Pre-Kindergarten Registrations must begin by creating an account through MySchools.nyc

What's Happening Now: 

If your child was born in 2019 and lives in New York City they are eligible to attend pre-K right now. You can use the Pre-K Directory on MySchools to search for schools. Contact schools directly to learn more.

 

If your child was born in 2020, the pre-K application is now open! You can add your child to your MySchools.nyc account now; click the “Get Started” button to begin your application. The deadline to apply is March 1, 2024.

 

Fall 2024 Admissions Timeline*

Below are the application open, close, and offer release dates. These dates are for students who are applying during the 2023-2024 school year for admission in the 2024-2025 school year.

Pre-K Admissions

  • Wednesday, January 10, 2024: Pre-K Application Opens
  • Friday, March 1, 2024: Pre-K Application Closes
  • Tuesday, May 14, 2024: Pre-K Offer Release 
 
 
 

During the pre-K application period, families can apply one of three ways:

  1. Online with MySchools. Apply online in English, Arabic, Bengali/Bangla, Chinese, Haitian Creole, French, Korean, Russian, Spanish, or Urdu.
  2. By phone at 718-935-2009. Interpretation services are available in more than 200 languages for over-the-phone applications. You can ask questions and request information about admissions in any language when you call.
  3. In person at a Family Welcome Center. An Enrollment Counselor can assist you in submitting an application.

The kindergarten application is open!  If your child was born in 2019 and lives in New York City, they are eligible to attend kindergarten in fall 2024. Apply by January 19, 2024.

  • Tuesday, December 5, 2023: Kindergarten Application Opens 
  • Friday, January 19, 2024: Kindergarten Application Closes 
  • Wednesday, March 27, 2024: Kindergarten Offer Release

The first step in registering your child is to gather all of the required documentation that you will physically need to bring to our school when you visit us- Please use the Registration Checklist at the bottom of this page to help prepare for your visit!
 
Your child must be present with you at time of in-person registration 
 
 
Personal Documents

The documents that you will need to bring with you when you visit the school are as follows:
 
  • Your Child’s Birth Certificate
  • TWO Proofs of Address
  • Immunization Records
  • Parent/Guardian Identification Card (I.D.)
 

School Forms

Forms that parents and guardians will need to fill out, and bring with them, to fully complete your child’s registration are as follows:
